Tokyo Drifter
ActionAdventureCrimeThriller89 min
After his boss leaves the yakuza, Phoenix Tetsu tries to go straight with him, but old loyalties do not survive the gang war they leave behind. Marked for death by rival syndicates, Tetsu is forced out of Tokyo and into a constant flight across Japan, moving from city streets to nightclubs to backroom hideouts as killers keep finding him. Every stop offers the same choice: disappear quietly or fight his way out again. Tetsuya Watari plays Tetsu as a man trapped by a code he cannot quite shed, while director Seijun Suzuki turns his chase through the underworld into a string of standoffs, betrayals, and sudden violence.
