Abducted in Plain Sight

CrimeDocumentary91 min

In 1970s Idaho, the Broberg family is pulled into the orbit of a neighbor whose charm and manipulation lead to the abduction of their adolescent daughter Jan — and then a second kidnapping. Jan Broberg recounts what happened alongside her mother, Mary Ann Broberg, as the documentary pieces together how a family friendship turned into long-term control. Built around interviews with the Brobergs and others connected to the case, the film stays close to the family’s perspective as it follows the breakdown of trust inside a marriage, a household, and a small community.
