The American
ActionCrimeDramaThriller105 min
After a job in Sweden goes wrong, George Clooney is Jack, a solitary assassin sent to hide out in a small town in the Italian countryside while he waits for further orders. There, he takes on a precise assignment for a mysterious contact: building a custom weapon. The routine begins to shift as Jack lets people into his orbit, from a local priest to Violante Placido's Clara, a woman who draws him toward a life outside his trade. In churches, cafés, and narrow mountain streets, Jack moves carefully, balancing professional discipline with the risks that come from staying still too long.
