Dwayne Johnson is John Matthews, a construction company owner who agrees to go undercover after his estranged son is arrested in a drug case and faces a harsh mandatory sentence. Hoping to win Jason a deal, John persuades the DEA and Susan Sarandon’s district attorney Joanne Keeghan to use him as an informant. With the help of an ex-con employee, he moves from suburban job sites into the narcotics trade, trying to broker introductions and make cases big enough to satisfy federal agents while keeping his cover intact. Based on true events, the story ties family stakes to a DEA operation that keeps narrowing around him.
