Denzel Washington is DEA agent Bobby Trench, running deep undercover alongside Mark Wahlberg’s Marcus Stigman, a Navy intelligence officer who doesn’t know his partner is also working a case. Bobby doesn’t know Marcus’s real assignment either: the two have been sent to investigate each other while posing as members of a narcotics ring. When a robbery aimed at cartel money blows up in their faces, both men are cut loose and forced to figure out who set them up. The story keeps its focus on mistrust, shifting allegiances, and the uneasy partnership between two operatives with badges, guns, and very different agendas.
