Newly retired and unsure what to do with her freedom, Caroline drifts into a neighborhood seniors’ club and an unexpected affair with its much younger computer instructor. Fanny Ardant is Caroline, a married woman whose boredom gives way to secrecy as she starts testing the limits of her new independence. Opposite her, Laurent Lafitte’s Julien brings flirtation and danger to a life organized around family routines, birthdays, and polite expectations. What begins as a way to escape idleness starts to unsettle the order of Caroline’s home life as she lies to her husband and pushes past the boundaries everyone assumes she’ll keep.
