Down by Love
DramaRomance110 min
Inside a French prison, a director crosses a line when he begins a relationship with one of the women incarcerated there. Guillaume Gallienne is the official whose authority and standing come under pressure as the affair grows harder to contain, while Adèle Exarchopoulos brings a guarded, unreadable presence to the inmate at the center of it. Inspired by a true story, the film keeps its focus on the imbalance between a man who runs the institution and a woman living inside it, where secrecy, scrutiny, and the prison’s rules shape every encounter.
