After his wife leaves him, Jacques tries to settle into a new routine in his Paris apartment and hires Laura to keep the place in order. Jean-Pierre Bacri is Jacques, a man who values his privacy until he starts adding to Laura’s hours and seeking out her company beyond the job. Opposite him, Emilie Dequenne brings a youthful directness to Laura that changes the arrangement from practical help to something more entangled. What begins as a domestic fix gradually blurs the line between paid work, companionship, and the fragile independence Jacques thought he wanted.
