Beyond the Hills
DramaRomance152 min
After returning to Romania from Germany, Alina hopes to take Voichita—the only person she loves—away with her. Cristina Flutur is Alina, arriving at a remote Orthodox monastery where Cosmina Stratan’s Voichita has become a novice nun under the guidance of the resident priest. Their reunion quickly hardens into a conflict between a shared past and Voichita’s religious calling, as Alina struggles to fit inside the monastery’s strict routines and beliefs. In the enclosed world of the convent, devotion, dependence, and resentment begin to knot together.
