The Caine Mutiny
DramaWar124 min
During World War II in the Pacific, a U.S. Navy executive officer relieves his captain during a typhoon and is hauled into a court-martial for mutiny. Humphrey Bogart is Captain Queeg, whose by-the-book command and increasingly erratic behavior unsettle the officers and crew aboard the aging U.S.S. Caine. Van Johnson’s Lt. Maryk takes the bridge in a crisis at sea, and the story moves from shipboard tension to a courtroom battle over duty, judgment, and whether his decision saved the ship or broke naval law.
