The Yards
CrimeDramaRomanceThriller115 min
Fresh out of prison, Mark Wahlberg’s Leo Handler returns to Queens looking for steady work and some distance from his past. He lands in the city’s subway yards, where lucrative repair contracts have made his uncle Frank Olchin a major force in the family business. With Willie (Joaquin Phoenix), his cousin and closest connection back home, Leo is drawn into a tight circle of relatives, favors, and old loyalties. But around the rail cars and work crews, the job is tied to bribery, pressure, and sabotage, and Leo finds that getting his life back on track means stepping into a system built on corruption.
