Stalag 17
ComedyDramaWar120 min
After two American prisoners are killed during an escape attempt at a German POW camp in World War II, the men in J.J. Sefton’s barracks start hunting for the informer who tipped off the guards, and Sefton becomes the obvious suspect. William Holden is Sefton, a detached operator who deals in cigarettes, favors, and whatever else camp life will bear. Billy Wilder keeps the action tight inside the barracks, where jokes, petty hustles, and escape plans give way to accusation and mistrust. As the men close ranks against Sefton, every deal, conversation, and failed break for freedom takes on a different meaning.
