After graduating from Delhi University, a drifting group of friends keeps circling their old campus until a visiting British filmmaker draws them into a project about Indian revolutionaries under British rule. Alice Patten is the outsider behind the camera, while Aamir Khan and Siddharth are part of the irreverent, largely apolitical circle she casts in period roles. As rehearsals and filming connect their present-day frustrations to the history they’re reenacting, a personal loss tied to government corruption jolts the group into a new sense of political urgency.
