Chen Zhen returns to his martial arts school after his master’s death and finds its students being harassed by rival fighters. Jet Li is Chen, carrying the story from mourning to retaliation as he steps in to defend the school and confront the men behind the attacks. Shinobu Nakayama and Siu-Ho Chin round out the circle around him as tensions keep spilling into challenge matches and street-level confrontations. Built around Chen’s loyalty to his teacher and school, the film keeps its focus on honor, humiliation, and hand-to-hand combat.
