Mistress America
ComedyDrama84 min
A lonely college freshman in New York latches onto the woman about to become her stepsister: Brooke, a fast-talking thirtysomething with big plans and a talent for pulling everyone around her into the next scheme. As Tracy follows Brooke through dinner parties, dead-end jobs, and grand business ideas, admiration turns into something messier. Brooke’s latest plan sends them on a trip upstate, where old friends, grudges, and borrowed identities collide in one crowded house. Greta Gerwig and Lola Kirke drive a story about reinvention, ambition, and the uneasy line between using someone as inspiration and betraying them on the page.
