Frances Ha

ComedyDramaRomance86 min

Frances is a 27-year-old aspiring dancer in New York, drifting between apartments, jobs, and plans as her money runs thin and her closest friendship starts to change. Greta Gerwig's Frances moves through the city with more enthusiasm than stability, while Sophie (Mickey Sumner), her best friend and former roommate, begins building a life that no longer fits them both the same way. Directed by Noah Baumbach and shot in black and white, the film follows Frances through career setbacks, awkward social circles, and that uneasy stretch between wanting an adult life and knowing how to make one.
