The Problem with Jon Stewart

The story

Each episode centers on one public problem and stays with it: veterans’ health, inflation, the economy, guns, democracy, and other issues that shape daily life. Jon Stewart opens with satirical monologues and comedy, then turns to interviews, field pieces, and roundtable conversations that press politicians, officials, advocates, and experts on how these problems got this bad and why they stay unsolved. The show keeps the focus on policy and consequences rather than headlines alone, returning again and again to who is affected and what power is doing about it. As the discussion unfolds, jokes and scrutiny sit side by side.
