Chinese Take-Away

ComedyDrama93 min

Ricardo Darín is Roberto, a solitary hardware-store owner in Buenos Aires whose tightly managed routine gets upended when he meets Jun (Ignacio Huang), a young Chinese man wandering the city after being thrown out of a taxi and assaulted. Jun is looking for an uncle he can’t find, and he doesn’t speak Spanish; Roberto has no patience for strangers, but he still ends up taking him in. Their uneasy arrangement turns into a search across the city, following the one clue Jun has: an address tattooed on his arm. The film builds its comedy and friction from mistranslation, habit, and two men who have no shared language.
