Presley Chweneyagae is Tsotsi, a teenage thug from Johannesburg’s Alexandra township who carjacks a woman and discovers there’s a baby in the back seat. He takes the infant back to his shack, and the job that should have been routine starts pulling him away from the gang life that has defined him since childhood. Kenneth Nkosi is one of the young men in Tsotsi’s tight, volatile circle as the film moves between the township’s cramped streets, his buried past, and the uneasy bond that forms around the child.
