The Constant Gardener

DramaMysteryRomanceThriller129 min

Ralph Fiennes is Justin Quayle, a quiet British diplomat in Kenya whose life cracks open after the murder of his wife, Tessa. As Justin retraces her work and the people she was trying to expose, grief turns into an investigation that reaches from Nairobi clinics to embassy offices and corporate corridors. Rachel Weisz's Tessa, seen in fragments of their marriage and her activism, remains at the center of the story even in absence, while Bill Nighy and Danny Huston move through the political machinery closing in around Justin. The film ties an intimate relationship to a larger conspiracy shaped by medicine, influence, and state power.
