Sunil Dutt is a guileless villager who falls hard for the young woman next door soon after arriving in town. To win over Saira Banu’s neighbor, he leans on a circle of musical-theater friends, turning a simple crush into a campaign of serenades, comic misdirection, and rivalry with the music teacher already in her orbit. Kishore Kumar is among the key accomplices as the film builds its courtship around mistaken impressions, performance, and escalating attempts to make an awkward suitor seem more polished than he is.
