Years after an accident separates two pairs of identical twins, both sets end up in the same place and every meeting turns into a fresh misunderstanding. Sanjeev Kumar carries one pair in double roles, while Deven Verma doubles the confusion as the second set; Moushumi Chatterjee and Deepti Naval are among the people trying to make sense of the chaos around them. Directed by Gulzar and adapted from Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors, the film builds its comedy from mistaken identities, crossed assumptions, and the mounting trouble that comes from everyone being certain they know exactly who they’re talking to.
