The Three Musketeers

ActionAdventureRomance107 min

Michael York is the young D'Artagnan, who arrives in 17th-century France hoping to join the King's Musketeers and instead finds himself allied with three famous swordsmen: Athos, Porthos, and Aramis. With Oliver Reed's Athos at the center of the group, their duels and rivalries quickly give way to court intrigue involving King Louis XIII and the increasingly dangerous power of Cardinal Richelieu. Richard Lester’s take on Dumas keeps the plotting tied to the camaraderie of the four men, with sword fights, romantic entanglements, and palace scheming all colliding around D'Artagnan's first steps into royal service.
