In 17th-century France, young swordsman D'Artagnan rides to Paris hoping to join the King’s Musketeers, only to be drawn into a web of court intrigue alongside Athos, Porthos, and Aramis. Gene Kelly is the eager Gascon at the center, charging from duels and tavern clashes into the schemes surrounding King Louis XIII. Around him, Lana Turner’s Countess de Winter and Vincent Price’s Cardinal Richelieu push the stakes from personal rivalries toward palace maneuvering. The film balances brisk swordplay, royal politics, and romance within Alexandre Dumas’s familiar “all for one” adventure.
