Belfast

DramaRomanceWar98 min

In late-1960s Belfast, Buddy is a working-class boy whose world is full of schoolyard mischief, family warmth, and a first romance just as unrest begins to overtake his street. Jude Hill is Buddy, taking in the growing tension around him while the adults in his life argue over what comes next. At the center of that choice is Buddy’s mother (Caitríona Balfe), facing the pull between the city she loves and the safety of leaving it behind. Kenneth Branagh tells the story through a child’s view of home, with family jokes and everyday routines unfolding alongside a neighborhood slipping into conflict.
