The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
ComedyDramaRomance124 min
Drawn by ads for a restored retirement haven in Jaipur, a group of British retirees arrive in India to find the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel far shabbier than promised. Dev Patel is Sonny, the hotel's young manager, whose optimism keeps colliding with debt, disrepair, and the practical needs of his new residents. Around him, newcomers including Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Maggie Smith, and Tom Wilkinson navigate culture shock, uneasy first impressions, and the possibility of finding a different rhythm late in life. The film moves between the bustle of Jaipur and the daily frictions inside a hotel held together more by enthusiasm than luxury.
