ActionAdventureDramaFantasy127 min

After a shipwreck leaves him stranded in the Pacific, Pi Patel, the teenage son of an Indian zookeeper, ends up on a lifeboat with a zebra, an orangutan, a hyena, and a Bengal tiger. Suraj Sharma is Pi, thrown from his family’s world in India into a fight for food, water, and space with a predator he can’t escape. Directed by Ang Lee, the film moves between survival tale and spiritual reflection, with flashbacks to Pi’s upbringing and questions of faith shaping the story. Irrfan Khan appears in the film’s later framing scenes as Pi looks back on what happened at sea.
