Hellboy is drawn into a war between humanity and the hidden world of magical creatures when Prince Nuada moves to awaken the Golden Army, an ancient force of mechanical killers. Ron Perlman’s cigar-chomping demon investigator takes on the threat alongside Selma Blair’s Liz, whose pyrokinetic powers make her one of the Bureau’s most dangerous agents, and Abe Sapien, the aquatic empath embodied by Doug Jones. Directed by Guillermo del Toro, the film sends its paranormal team through an underworld of elves, trolls, secret markets, and elaborate creatures as Nuada fights to reclaim Earth for his kind.
