Summoned by Nazis in an occult experiment at the end of World War II, a baby demon is rescued by Allied forces and grows up to become Hellboy, the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense’s top field agent. Ron Perlman’s Hellboy works under the watch of Dr. Broom (John Hurt) and alongside Liz Sherman (Selma Blair), whose pyrokinesis keeps her at a distance from the people around her. When a resurrected sorcerer and his followers return, Hellboy is pulled into a clash of cult rituals, paranormal investigations, and apocalyptic prophecy, with his own origin sitting at the center of it.
