The Foolish Bird
Drama118 min
Lynn lives with her grandparents in Meicheng, a small city in Hunan unsettled by an ongoing rape-murder investigation. Bullied at school and left with little structure beyond it, she begins smuggling and reselling confiscated mobile phones with a friend, a scheme that brings her into contact with the city's seedier inhabitants. Yao Fang and Xiao Liqiao are among the young leads in a coming-of-age story shaped by adolescent drift, friendship, and the pressure of a community where violence and daily life sit uncomfortably close together.
