Training Day
ActionAdventureCrimeDramaThriller122 min
On his first day in the LAPD narcotics unit, rookie Jake Hoyt is assigned to ride with veteran detective Alonzo Harris, whose charm, swagger, and methods keep shifting the line between police work and criminality. Denzel Washington is Alonzo, steering Jake through dealers, gang territory, and back-room arrangements in Westlake, Echo Park, and South Central Los Angeles, while Ethan Hawke's Jake tries to figure out whether he’s being trained, tested, or implicated. Over the course of one day, their partnership becomes a tug-of-war over authority, survival, and what justice looks like when the badge itself is in question.
