See No Evil, Hear No Evil

ComedyCrime103 min

When a man is murdered outside a New York newsstand, two witnesses become the prime suspects: Gene Wilder is David Lyons, a deaf clerk who never hears the shot, and Richard Pryor’s Wally Karue, a blind man who hears it but can’t identify the killer. Arrested and then on the run, the pair are pushed into an uneasy partnership while they dodge police and the actual murderers. Joan Severance’s Eve is part of the crew hunting them, turning the mix-up into a chase through New York built on crossed signals, panic, and slapstick near-misses.
