Deepika Padukone is Malti, a young woman rebuilding her life after an acid attack, in a drama inspired by the story of survivor Laxmi Agarwal. After the assault, the film follows Malti through medical treatment and court proceedings, staying close to the physical and emotional aftermath as she seeks justice. Vikrant Massey and Madhurjeet Sarghi appear alongside her as the case moves through Delhi’s legal and social systems, with the story focused on the day-to-day reality of surviving an attack and facing what follows.
