A Place Called Silence
CrimeDramaMystery119 min
After middle school student Chen Yutong is bullied at school, her mother Li Han finds herself unable to pull her daughter out of what the film frames as a private hell. At the school and beyond, the people around them look away, and that collective silence allows the harm to spread. Built as a crime drama with a mystery thread, the story turns a single family’s crisis into a wider portrait of bystander indifference and institutional failure. Ning Chang and Francis Chun-Yu Ng are part of the ensemble surrounding the case as pressure builds inside a community that refuses to speak.
