In socialist Yugoslavia, a small-town man discovers that forging papers can solve almost anything the system refuses to fix. What starts as a practical favor for neighbors and friends turns into a side business, as people come to him for permits, certificates, and official stamps that open doors otherwise kept shut. Each fake document helps someone get by, but it also pulls him deeper into a web of petty corruption, local power, and political absurdity. As demand grows, so does the risk: every forged signature threatens to expose not just one forger, but a whole community learning how to survive by bending rules no one fully believes in.
