Vivre sa vie

Drama85 min

In 1960s Paris, Nana (Anna Karina) moves through cafés, streets, and rented rooms as financial pressure and bad turns push her toward prostitution. Jean-Luc Godard breaks her story into twelve chapters, following chance conversations, awkward transactions, a night out dancing, and long stretches of watchful silence as Nana tries to keep some control over her life. Sady Rebbot’s Raoul enters as a man who helps draw her further into that world, while Karina’s cool, searching presence keeps the film fixed on Nana’s face, voice, and shifting sense of self.
