The Lobster
ComedyDramaRomanceSci-FiThriller119 min
Colin Farrell is a newly single man taken to The Hotel, where the laws of a near-future society give every unattached guest 45 days to find a partner. If they fail, they’re transformed into an animal and released into the woods. Yorgos Lanthimos builds the story around strict rules, blunt punishments, and a romance culture reduced to matching traits and rehearsed behavior. Rachel Weisz and Olivia Colman are part of the film’s controlled, unsettling social order, as the search for a mate turns into something stranger and harsher than a standard love story.
