A dead woman in the Los Angeles headquarters of a Japanese corporation puts two detectives on a politically fraught homicide case. Sean Connery is John Connor, a veteran cop with experience in Japan; Wesley Snipes's Web Smith is the younger partner trying to navigate boardroom etiquette, police pressure, and a key piece of security footage that may not show what it seems. As the investigation moves from corporate parties to closed-door negotiations, the murder starts to look less like an isolated crime than a carefully managed cover-up.
