A middle-class family in Taipei finds its routines shaken by weddings, work pressures, and private disappointments that leave each generation questioning where life is headed. Nien-Jen Wu is NJ, an engineer and father whose ordinary responsibilities start to feel unsteady as personal and moral doubts creep in. At the same time, young Yang-Yang (Jonathan Chang) watches the adults around him with unusual curiosity, using his camera to notice what other people miss. As parents, children, and grandparents move through the same crowded household, small daily encounters gradually expose fractures in their relationships and the quiet distance between how people live and what they mean to say.
