Years after life pulled them in different directions, novelist Ingrid and war reporter Martha meet again and try to rebuild the friendship they once shared at the same magazine. Julianne Moore is Ingrid, now a successful autofiction writer, while Tilda Swinton’s Martha returns carrying the marks of a life spent covering war. As the two women revisit old memories, films, art, and the paths they didn’t take together, Martha asks something of Ingrid that gives their reunion a new, uneasy closeness. Pedro Almodóvar directs this English-language story of friendship, distance, and a bond tested late in life.
