I'm Still Here

Drama137 min

Fernanda Torres is Eunice Paiva, a mother of five whose life is upended in 1971 as Brazil’s military dictatorship tightens its grip. When the regime targets her family and her husband, former politician Rubens Paiva, is taken away, Eunice is left to hold their household together and remake her life under mounting scrutiny. Selton Mello appears as Rubens in Walter Salles’ portrait of a family pushed from ordinary routines into fear, uncertainty, and public silence. Grounded in a true story, the film follows Eunice as private loss and state violence begin to define the course of her family’s future.
