Walkabout
ActionAdventureDrama100 min
After a family outing in the Australian outback turns violent, a teenage girl and her little brother are left alone in the wilderness with no idea how to survive. Jenny Agutter is the wary older sister, and Luc Roeg her six-year-old brother; their only help comes from a young Aboriginal hunter, David Gulpilil, whom they meet during his walkabout, a solitary rite of passage. As the three move through the harsh landscape, the film stays close to the children’s fear, disorientation, and growing dependence on someone from a world they barely understand.
