Trivial Matters
Comedy91 min
Seven comic stories unfold across Hong Kong, each built around a different social problem and pushed toward satire. Corruption, police entanglements, and undercover schemes run through the film’s portrait of city life, with each segment shifting to a new situation and set of characters. Eason Chan and Gillian Chung are among the familiar faces in a large ensemble that also includes Edison Chen and Chapman To. In Cantonese and rooted in contemporary Hong Kong, the film uses a multi-story structure to bounce between street-level trouble, official misconduct, and everyday absurdity.
