Takuma Kakinouchi grows up knowing he is unlikely to live past 20. As a child in the hospital, he meets Mayu Taneda, and their bond deepens into first love as they move into their teenage years. What begins as an innocent promise about the future turns painful once Takuma understands what his illness means: every plan with Mayu comes with an ending already hanging over it. He tries to protect her by pulling away, but distance only sharpens what they feel and draws others into the strain around them. Mao Inoue and Masaki Okada star in a romance where school life, family hopes, and a terminal diagnosis keep pressing against the couple’s wish to stay together.
