Ondine
DramaMysteryRomance111 min
Colin Farrell is Syracuse, a divorced fisherman on the coast of Cork who has stopped drinking and is trying to care for his sick daughter, Annie. When he pulls a nearly drowned young woman from his net, Alicja Bachleda's Ondine asks to be hidden away in an isolated cottage and not spoken of. Annie quickly becomes convinced the stranger is a selkie, a seal from Irish legend that can take human form, while Syracuse tries to keep one foot in the ordinary world. Neil Jordan folds Irish folklore into a story grounded in illness, secrecy, and the fragile hope of starting over.
