Antwone Fisher

DramaRomance120 min

A young Navy sailor keeps landing in trouble for fighting, but the anger he carries comes from far earlier than the latest brawl. Sent to see a military psychiatrist, Antwone Fisher resists at first, then begins to talk through a childhood shaped by abandonment, abuse, and years of feeling unwanted. As Dr. Davenport, played by Denzel Washington, pushes him to face what he has buried, Antwone starts to build a life outside his rage, including a tentative romance. Derek Luke plays Fisher as the sessions force him toward the people and memories he has spent years avoiding, and toward the family history he barely knows.
