Drunken Master

ActionAdventureComedy111 min

After one prank too many, Jackie Chan’s Wong Fei-hung is sent to Beggar So, a filthy, hard-drinking kung fu master known for punishing students as harshly as he trains them. Under the old man’s bruising instruction, Wong has to trade swagger for discipline and learn the off-balance, deceptive style known as the Drunken Fist. Yuen Siu-tien gives the mentor both comic shabbiness and a mean streak, while the film builds its training clashes and fights around Chan’s acrobatics, slapstick timing, and tightly choreographed martial arts.
