The Way of the Dragon
ActionAdventureComedyCrimeDramaThrillerWarWestern100 min
Called from Hong Kong to Rome, kung fu expert Tang Lung steps into a family emergency when a Chinese restaurant comes under pressure from gangsters trying to seize the property. Bruce Lee is Tang, arriving as an outsider in a foreign city and quickly becoming the restaurant’s main line of defense as threats turn into open attacks. Nora Miao appears among the people fighting to keep the business alive, and Lee, who also directed, threads broad fish-out-of-water comedy through the street-level crime story, with fast, hard martial-arts fights unfolding against Roman plazas, cramped interiors, and the looming presence of the Colosseum.
