James Wilks, winner of The Ultimate Fighter and a Special Forces trainer, travels from the UFC world of Las Vegas to a Dartmouth anthropology lab, a strongman gym in Berlin, and the bushlands of Zimbabwe to investigate what meat, protein, and strength have to do with performance. Along the way, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lewis Hamilton join Wilks among elite athletes, doctors, and researchers arguing for plant-based eating. The film folds together interviews, sports footage, and personal stories from competitors including cyclist Dotsie Bausch and strongman Patrik Baboumian as it tracks a changing conversation around food, health, and fitness.
