To the Left of the Father

Drama163 min

In 1940s São Paulo, Pedro is sent to find his estranged brother André and bring him back to the family he fled. Selton Mello is André, a young man pushed out by a household shaped by a domineering father and a mother whose closeness feels just as binding. Back home, Raul Cortez's patriarch still rules the family, while old resentments sharpen around Pedro and the favoritism that once set the brothers against each other. André’s bond with his sister Ana (Simone Spoladore) makes the homecoming even more fraught.
